What a fantastic place. Set in Woodlands with a long driveway the castle looks impressive as you approach.
Once inside the castle has retained it's medieval feel with stone wall, staircases and flagged floors. All the staff were extremely friendly and appeared to enjoy working there.
We wandered around the castle to take in the atmosphere. Passing suits of armour and walking through high wooden doors. Weddings take place here. There's a church and function rooms with open fires.
The cellar bar is amazing a stone room down stones steps. No windows just candle lights a great atmospheric place. Harry the bar man was chatty and made great cocktails (happy hour 5-7pm)
We ate in the Brasserie which was the old castle kitchen, there was the old ovens still in place as a character vocal point. Food was lovely again staff were friendly and chatty.
