The Jolly Gardeners

We came back in December but I forgot to leave a review. Took my fiancée and her parents, who can be difficult to please, but we all really loved the food. The grilled mackerel starter was my favourite plate we had; the fish was really nicely coloured but still plump and juicy. The turkey and bacon pie was very nice and the pastry was well made. I also had the leeks mornay which were finished with Comté - creamy, nutty and savoury - nicely balanced. The food really is of a very high standard. They do a great pint of Guinness and the service I received was excellent too. It’s a beautiful little pub and I think a bit of music would have improved the atmosphere as it was a little quiet on a Monday afternoon. We’ll definitely be back!
