Another amazing meal, the whole experience felt relaxed and welcoming from the moment we arrived fine dining without any stiffness or pretension, which made the evening even more enjoyable. A really nice touch was James himself coming out at the start to chat with guests, which immediately made the experience feel personal and thoughtful. The tasting menu was creative, seasonal and beautifully balanced throughout. Highlights for us were the scallop with crème fraîche and sansho, the Wagyu courses and the burnt yoghurt with fig dessert, all of which were full of flavour and executed brilliantly. Every course felt carefully considered without being overcomplicated. A special mention to Joe the sommelier, who was excellent all evening friendly, knowledgeable and spot on with our wine for the evening. The atmosphere, service and food all came together brilliantly. A genuinely memorable meal and somewhere I’d happily recommend to anyone looking for a special dinner in a relaxed setting.
