The Bull and Swan restaurant reviews

Average rating: 4.2
We had a room 9, with a huge, lovely bed. It was very comfy and the bedding was good too. But the room was freezing cold and we had to work out how the radiators worked and how to put them on. I do think they should have been turned on before our arrival. But I was provided with a free standing, effective radiator when I asked. It is a really old pub and I do understand some of the problems but…..the room door didn’t shut. We were at the top of some very steep stairs with a lockable door at the bottom which I suppose made up for our door not shutting. But if there had been a fire. I dread to think what could have happened. The stairs are steep and have a bed at the top. There is only one hand rail and nothing where the bend occurs….just 2 fire extinguishers on the wall. There needs to be a hand rail on both sides of the stair and especially at the bend. There is a bath in the bedroom, which I find very odd. The water in the bathroom, in the sink, took ages to become even vaguely hot and there needs to be a hook on the back of the door to hang a hand towel on.
