Island restaurant reviews

Average rating: 4.7
Dinner here was such a nice surprise – delicious food, loads of space and an almost surreal number of chandeliers.
Loved the spacious dining area with chandeliers everywhere and a nice buzz. Service was friendly and attentive without ever feeling pushy.
Some of the dishes sound a bit unusual on paper, but everything we ordered was genuinely good: wild mushroom bread, lamb belly and clam skewers, scallop corn dog skewer, lamb doner sausage oyster, Guinness bacon rarebit oyster, grilled shawarma prawns, island mixed grill, jerk Tamworth pork chop, turf roasties, and harissa baked pumpkin with labneh. Our standouts were the wild mushroom bread, the island mixed grill and the jerk pork chop – all packed with flavour and the kind of plates I’d order again.
If you like dessert, do not skip the chocolate fudge cake. It looks dense, but it’s moist, rich without being too sweet, and perfect to take away if you’re too full to eat it straight after all those plates.
We’re already planning a return visit to work through more of the menu. I think this place deserves more attention, and if you like meat and seafood then definitely give it a try!
