Co-owned by the legend himself, Idris Elba, and wine expert David Farber, this place completely redefines the "celebrity restaurant" stereotype. It's not flashy or loud—it’s low-key, incredibly sexy, and deeply sophisticated. I am not exaggerating when I say I consumed the absolute best beef rib I have ever had here. It was cooked to absolute perfection, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and packed with incredible flavor. A total showstopper. If you're overwhelmed by the massive wine wall, just tell the team what you like, and they will pair your plates flawlessly. While the food and drinks were unforgettable, what truly elevated the night was the stellar service. I have to commend Preeti, who was effortlessly holding down the fort covering both hostess and server duties during our visit. ​Despite handling double the workload, she distributed the absolute highest level of professionalism, kindness, and attentiveness—all with a genuine smile on her face. It is so rare to encounter a person with such pristine, top-tier customer service these days. She is an absolute asset to the restaurant! ​If the London weather is behaving, try to snag one of their alfresco tables right by the canal. It feels like a slice of continental Europe hidden right in the middle of the city. ​Whether you're looking for a moody date night spot, an incredible meal, or just want to bask in a venue that matches Idris Elba's immaculate energy—Porte Noire is a 10/10.
