Humble Chicken restaurant reviews

Average rating: 4.7
Humble Chicken is honestly one of my top three restaurants in London.
I’ve been coming since before they received their stars, including for some of their chef collaborations, and they have consistently delivered incredible food and a phenomenal experience. Every visit has had its own character, but the same sense of generosity, care, and excitement has always been there - from the early days before the stars to the more ambitious restaurant it has become now.
What makes it special is that, despite all the recognition, the team still feels genuinely humble. They are warm, welcoming, and clearly love working together doing what they love to do. It’s rare to find somewhere operating at this level that still feels so human and genuinely fun.
The experience is incredibly intimate, and you really get to connect with the team, chat with them, and feel part of the evening rather than just a guest at a table. The playlist was brilliant too - full of throwbacks and great tunes, with Chef Angelo even singing along at times. It made the whole evening feel like being at home with friends, gathered around the kitchen, laughing, chatting, and enjoying incredible food.
They have always been incredibly accommodating with my dietary requirements, and I’ve never felt like I was missing out. The renovation is beautiful too. As an architect, I really appreciated how the space now feels less cramped while still keeping that intimate, personal feeling.
And the food - genuinely life-changing. Every bite made me giddy. I do sometimes miss the simpler yakitori days, but I’m so proud of Chef Angelo’s ambition and everything the team has achieved.
We also came to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and they made it so thoughtful: they took our photo and gave her a handwritten birthday card signed by the whole team. We even chatted about London restaurants, and the team shared some of their personal favourites.
A truly special restaurant with heart, soul, and extraordinary food.
