Terrible customer service, misleading advertising, go somewhere where the staff value the customers. My mum was given a voucher to eat at Craft - which was advertised as ‘Fine dining meal with a drink’ on voucher. What a shock when we found the drink is WATER. Water is free in England. You can’t advertise water as a benefit/perk - It’s like offering a seat, or cutlery.. actually you have to buy those. It’s like offering air! We found out about the ‘free water’ before we went because we asked to change the table from 4 to 5 people and enquired about the drink. We challenged it on the phone but were told no. Voucher holders are also unable to sit in the booths outside. We decided to go as it was a special occasion. When we arrived the hostess was rude. Her welcome was particularly unfriendly and when we walked to the side to let others check in she firmly told us we had no idea where our table was and to wait (we weren’t going anywhere). When we sat down we asked to speak to the manager to ask about the water again. It was then we were asked if we had read the full terms and conditions as it stated that any bookings on a Saturday also had to pay £12.50 supplement per person. Again we challenged and asked why - we were told because of capacity. The restaurant was half empty. There was no movement. No customer service. No attempt to make a difference. The 5 of us all agreed to leave as we were completely shocked with the whole situation. We instead headed to a nearby restaurant, were greeted with friendly, smiling staff and had incredible food. At a time when small gestures can make a big impact, what a shame Craft don’t value their customers.
