Cadet restaurant reviews

Average rating: 4.2
Stoke Newington has so many hidden gems, and Cadet is definitely one of them. I stopped by hoping to try their well-known terrine, but it happened to be a guest-chef night with Max Rocha and Harry McKenzie. I didn’t get the terrine, but all the small plates were excellent.
My favourites were the cider baked leeks (surprisingly flavourful) and the St Jude’s curd with walnut and quince. The ricotta agnolotti and the salad were also beautifully done, and the chocolate & cobnut tart was good enough that we ordered a second one.
The only thing that wasn’t for me was the natural wine – personally found it quite sour and flat, but that’s just down to taste.
Lovely atmosphere, friendly service, and great food overall. Would happily come back, especially to try the terrine next time.
