Wow i love this high quality and relaxed restaurant and eaten here several times in the last 5 years. The food is astonishing in this large but quaint country pub. Everything including the varieties of fresh bread is made on the premises. The staff are happy and proud to work there, my sister works in the next village and knows most of them. The prices are good and it's all fresh made on site, just ask and they will tailor any meal for you np because they can. Because it is a village pub it has a dartboard and pool table which are great ways to engage and kick off a local conversation if you want to. You need to book dinner tables at busy times, it's simple to do and well worth it. The male toilets are cold but clean, can't remember if they were accessible or had hot water. Large car park and easy to find just off the A1 but mobiles don't generally work, really, no google, nothing, 12 people zilch, hey, no cheating in the pub quiz then huh. Our group is quite large, often 12, it makes things complicated for kitchen staff but they faultlessly delivered delicious hot food with great timing and co-ordination every year. Its an award winning top place to eat at an affordable price.
