The Queens Head restaurant reviews

Average rating: 4.2
We went for a Valentines meal but unfortunately the whole experience was a let down. I ordered tempura oysters with aioli, when it arrived it was one oyster on some wild garlic sat on a spoon. You couldn't even call it a starter, it was more a nibble. Our mains, when they arrived 40 mins later, consisted of 1 fondant potato, a moderate piece of beef blade and a small spoonful of celeriac puree with a bit of jus around it. Whilst everything tasted nice enough, I feel no real thought was given to the actual plates of food. Would it have cost that much to do some nice honey roasted carrots etc to accompany the beef? Also, the kitchen staff could do with being a bit more professional, one diner did remark that "it sounds like an episode of Eastenders in there". In fairness to the manager, he listened to our grievances and was very apologetic. We have eaten here before and enjoyed our meals, hopefully this was just a one off
