When arriving at the Tawny you are greater with breathtaking view of the well maintained gardens and grounds. Enter the reception to extremely welcoming staff. I stayed in the pheasant lodge which was well equipped clean and set in a tranquil setting BLISS! Dinner- Plumicorn Restaurant I opted for the tasting menu. Starting with chefs snacks of mini cheddar, polenta with black garlic and truffle and crab croustade WOW Spelt bread with marmite whipped butter Confit tomatoes smoked Lancashire cheese and ponzu Turbot with smoked eel caviar and champagne sauce Staffordshire beef shiitake and bordelaise sauce Strawberry with meadowsweet Cocoa with miso and sesame Petit fours Truly delicious food expertly prepared and elegantly plated. Honestly one of the best meals I have had the pleasure to eat! Well done to the exec chef and his team. Front of house were not only polite and friendly but also professional and knowledgeable. The whole experience was far beyond the modest 2 rosettes the restaurant holds. I would say worthy of a Michelin star. I will most definitely be back!
