Latest review:

I came here over a year ago but after visiting Stamford again, I was reminded of our last visit and was therefore promted to leave a review. £5 for a teapot of hot chocolate. I would only consider paying this for one hot chocolate if it was large, full of creamy real chocolate and topped with fresh cream and marshmallows, perhaps with a chocolate spoon to dip. But the George's offering was some cocoa powder in hot water, the kind you get given on a camping school trip out of a keg in a field. The tea was also £5 for two people. The cakes were sub-standard and plain, the scone tasted like it was made the day before and we had to ask for more jam because we were given a stingy amount, and there was no cream. I could have gone to M&S and had a more satisfying hot chocolate and scone for a fraction of the price. As we left, my dad didn't say anything, not wanting to ruin my mums birthday, but I could tell how perplexed and annoyed he was to receive the bill- over £70 (!) on 4 teas, 2 mediocre hot chocolates, a glass of squash and about 3 scones to share. We should have all had a glass of squash like my little cousin- that only cost 50 pence.
