The Chalk Freehouse restaurant reviews

Average rating: 4.1
I went to The Chalk in Chelsea for Sunday lunch with a friend, and it was absolutely delightful from start to finish. The staff were extremely attentive — warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming, which made the whole experience feel effortless and enjoyable. The menu was comprehensive, offering a thoughtful balance of classic comfort dishes and more creative options, beautifully presented and full of flavour. The wine list was equally impressive, with some excellent pairings recommended by the team.
The ambiance was exactly right for a relaxed Sunday — stylish yet unpretentious, with just the right buzz of conversation and an inviting, comfortable feel. It’s the kind of place that manages to feel both local and special at the same time, and you can tell real care has gone into every detail.
A huge thank you to everyone at The Chalk for creating such a lovely experience — from the location and décor to the quality of the food and service. It’s a real Chelsea gem, and I’ll definitely be back soon, perhaps next time with family or for an evening gathering.
