Plates by Purnell's

I called to enquire into whether the seats by the window could accommodate 4 (as the pictures only seem to be tables of 2) and encountered one of the rudest customer service interactions I've ever had on the other end of the phone. It was extremely abrasive and dismissive. After interrupting me twice to ask if I'd checked online because "all bookings should be made online first" I was finally able to speak long enough to ask the question I had called to ask and was told to "just make the booking and then you can ask to sit outside when you arrive." I understand you may be busy but had you just given me two minutes of time to answer what is really quite a simple question / request I would have happily gone online to make a booking but safe to say it's left a very sour taste and I won't be going ahead with my booking. I really hope that's not how you deal with anyone who calls up looking for help to make a booking, who for whatever reason may actually not be able to make a booking online themselves or just wants some clarity ahead of committing (and inputting card details). *Just for clarity - the one star is for this interaction and is not how I would have rated the restaurant prior to this. I've been to Plates by Purnell's previously and had a lovely experience with the staff and although I thought the food was maybe at a higher price point for what you get, we had a lovely evening and I was keen to go again and enjoy their indoor/outdoor seating on a sunny day.
