A friend wanted to treat me to a nice dinner, and took me to Galvin Brasserie. Sadly the evening did not live up to expectations. Despite looking like a fancy brasserie, it seems to be much more of a family restaurant (for families staying at the hotel) than we expected. The table next to us had their toddler watching cartoons with the sound on (and loud) from a phone, which really didn't suit the atmosphere of the place and made it difficult to have a conversation, but there were no attempts by the staff to ask them to put the sound down even when we asked them to. They didn't charge us for drinks in the end, but we would've preferred a quiet meal and to pay the full bill. This just makes us wonder what other kinds of disturbing behaviour you might have to put up with here without the staff intervening, seeing as they either don't care, or they're much more concerned with not upsetting their wealthy hotel guests. The food wasn't anything special either, and not worth the price.
