Fold

For date night we chose Fold Bistro in Marple, and it was nothing short of divine. We started with the cellar focaccia with white bean and British oil, alongside the market oyster with nam chin—both were fresh and beautifully balanced. The mushroom parfait with rhubarb chutney, served with Grandma’s malt loaf and malted butter, was a real standout—the malt loaf in particular was exceptional. The fold hashbrowns with rhubarb sriracha and kewpie mayo were packed with flavour and a fun twist on a classic. For mains, the butterflied bream with chermoula and aji verde was perfectly cooked and vibrant, while the 500g bone-on sirloin with sauce gribiche and smoked tallow was absolutely outstanding—cooked to perfection and full of flavour. To finish, Tomlinson’s rhubarb with Yorkshire cheesecake, buttermilk and toasted almond was the perfect dessert—light, tangy, and a great end to the meal. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. We genuinely couldn’t fault a thing—12/10 food and the perfect spot for a date night. We’ll definitely be back!
