Da Costa restaurant reviews

Average rating: 4.2
Delicious food but expensive and poor service.
We ate beetroot risotto, grilled radicchio, monkfish and guinea fowl. I would describe the restaurant as 'Italian influence' rather than 'Italian', with menu based on the large open grill and using local ingredients. Lovely setting but be warned, the food is expensive: £22 for a pasta or risotto, over £30 for a main. London prices that I would not expect to pay in deepest Somerset.
And poor service. The wine waiter looked blankly at me when. asked about one of the vermouths. He did not know what he was offering and certainly had never tried it. We ordered from the menu, then noticed other tables being offered a list of specials. Several moving around with different trendy jackets (this is H&W!) but nobody seemed to know what was going on and nobody seemed to be in charge. Not what I would expect from. restaurant charging those sorts of prices.
