Ardtara Country House

I stayed at Ardtara in February with three friends, we wanted a bit of a treat, a bit of craic and this place absolutely delivered. It’s luxurious in all the best ways but still has that warm, cosy feel, like staying in someone’s beautiful home. From the moment we arrived, Sean and the team made us feel genuinely welcome. We were shown to our lovely rooms, all beautifully decorated and then headed to the bar for a delicious pre-dinner drink, such a relaxing start to the stay. The house itself is stunning, elegant and full of charm, but not at all stuffy. Everything just felt thoughtful, like real care had gone into every detail. Dinner was absolutely delicious, and breakfast the next morning was just as good. The bar was a real highlight too, nice and so cosy and full of character, perfect for winding down. But honestly, the best part was how we were treated. It never felt like a hotel in the usual sense, more like staying with family who happen to have an incredible house and are amazing hosts. It’s the perfect escape.
