Yugo

Yugo restaurant reviews

Average rating: 4.6
Really disappointed with Yügo after all the hype and good reviews.
£8 for one chicken bao is wild — and it wasn’t special enough to justify the price. The prawn bao was the same story, also £8 and nothing exciting about it. It looked fine, but pretty basic for the price.
The chicken mince dish was bland and the meat was actually cold. We sometimes avoid chilli’s, but we ended up adding them just to get some flavour into it.
Tempura broccoli tasted great… but there were only two stems. The brussels were also good, but again, overpriced for what they are. Crispy pork dumplings were just average, nothing special. The fried rice with pea and ham tasted like something from a standard local Chinese, not a restaurant charging £8 for a portion.
To be fair, the service and atmosphere were grand — no complaints there. We don’t mind paying for good food. But overall, it felt overpriced and overhyped. Expected much better. We won’t return unfortunately.
