1919 Restaurant at The Cottage In The Wood restaurant reviews

Average rating: 4.3
Found this place from a local newspaper article, and what a find! We went for Sunday lunch and a marvellous lunch it was. Before you go into the hotel it looks lovely and has the most amazing views from up high in the Malvern Hills. Once inside the staff are friendly, very efficient and very attentive. The scene is already set for a lovely lunch by the time you arrive at your table. Once the food arrives it steps up a notch. Lovely little amuse bouches arrive to keep you company along with some homemade sourdough and ampersand butter. There's a choice of each of the three courses and they all sounded lovely. We both had the game terrine for starters and that was delicious. The roast Herefordshire beef was phenomenal, although I was also sorely tempted by the Baked cod with mussel chowder. As a dessert, the chocolate and orange delice was rich and sweet and an extravagant way to end the meal. The blackberry mouse with a pear sorbet was a fresh and crisp way if you fancy something lighter. I cannot sing CITW's praises enough and look forward to returning to try all their different menus. The staff are a credit to the restaurant and only enhance what was a great lunch.
