Not sure what makes this a 5-star hotel. The location is great. Things look clean and new but the squeaky floorboards can be quite annoying at all hours of the day. Staff seemed nice but not very informative about details of the stay. No spoons in the rooms with the tea and coffee set. No toothbrush in the bathroom. 5-star hotels usually have luxury goods but the toiletries seemed quite cheap and sparse. There was a £30 credit for food and beverage on my room account but wasn't told this applies only to the bar and restaurant, not the mini-bar in the room-which is also food and beverage...(In reply to the General Manager-this was NOT explained to me at any time nor is it written anywhere. It says "food and beverage" only, not bar and restaurant only so you can understand my confusion). I was waiting for them to charge me for the oxygen in the room.(In reply, I understand businesses try to bleed customers for as much money as possible but having spent a lot of money already on the room, I felt it was a bit much to charge for a chocolate bar eaten from the mini-bar when I had the understanding there was credit on my room). Noise and trash on the streets outside was also off-putting.(I understand it is residential) Really nice building, but room seemed quite small for the price I paid. Again, unsure why this is a 5-star hotel but I would recommend for the location.
