The White Horse

A disappointing experience. We had high hopes of enjoying a lovely anniversary lunch overlooking the salt marshes. We were met by an indifferent member of staff who did not appear to want to offer us a better table even though there were plenty of other tables available. We were sat in a quiet corner as far away from the lovely views as was possible. I had hoped the lobster would be deliciously sweet but it was bland and only a couple of mouthfuls. We had hoped that we would enjoy a long relaxing lunch in a beautiful location but instead we were keen to leave. When we went to pay the bill we were offered a large slate with a piece of brownie and a message of happy anniversary piped in icing. Rather than marking a fitting end to a lovely meal this felt like a desultory gesture. Such a shame as the location itself deserves better.
