The Kingsway Hotel

Thus was our second visit. Came here for our anniversary a couple of months ago, but went back last night for a 'Date night'. Booking simple and user friendly, staff all attentive, eloquent and efficient. Food was spot on. Have to say this place isn't cheap, if that's your goal, look elsewhere, but if good food is your goal, you're on the right b track. We both had garlic mushrooms and fillet steak. Couldn't face a dessert as we were both stuffed! Garlic mushrooms were gorgeous, sliced in a rich creamy sauce with some toasted bread. Tasted perfect. Steaks were of first class quality, no sign of sinues or fatty bits, decent size, cooked throughout to perfection 👌. That has to rank somewhere in the top 5 most enjoyable meals I've ever had (and I've eaten in some pretty fancy places all over the world). The place is 100years old this year, it was founded in 1926 and stayed in the same family until just 6 years ago! The lounge bar has a wide frontage with panoramic views over the estuary, comfortable seating and a nice relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely be back, and probably bring friends next time too!
