The Cock and Bull

Didn't stay at hotel. Spontaneous visit to make the most of a nice winters day. Very welcoming staff and very dog friendly with a section for dog owners to sit and eat. Was seated immediately without a reservation, but you can book a table ahead of time. I had the special pork and chorizo burger, lovely sweet and savory taste with a smokyness from the chorizo and cheese. Nice crunchy chips with a soft centre, and a creamy coleslaw. Had Frickles on the side, a nice crispy and tasty batter and moist pickles, the honey mustard sauce was very tasty. The menu is a good selection of traditional and regional dishes and they are proud to support local suppliers. Price was mid range, but felt very reasonable for the portion size and quality.
