The Chagford Inn

Superb locally sourced food and beer establishment. What to know: Laid back eatery situated on the Chagford high street, don’t think this is a drinkers pub because it isn’t, locally sourced beers, food and no brands here but that’s why you should visit. The food is exceptional with breakfast and dinner meeting standards of gold stars highlighted by Devon food. The room I stayed in was on the ground floor and I had the best nights sleep in ages, we hit the pillows around ten and had a little kitchen noise as it closed but I really didn’t mind because the dinner devoured was the best I had in a very long time. I highly recommend a visit if you want to experience excellent local food within a unique atmosphere. As for the room it was exceptionally clean and the decor sourced from the local Totnes company named: Love Frankie, go and have a look if you appreciate unique decor. To note this is a dog, walker, family friendly establishment with no strict rules. No parking available but plenty close by. I paid £150 for one night with a £10 surcharge for the dog ( this is cheap compared to elsewhere) The meal for two came to under £100 which included a £10 tip, and a shared starter with drinks. Breakfast was the finisher for us and was very good in terms of quality and quantity. I stand by the term “use it or lose it” when it comes to establishments like this, I’d love to return regularly.
