When I first got there everything was spectacular and just jaw-droppingly beautiful, I was coming for work and wasn't really expecting much, because pictures are mostly always an exaggeration. We arrived, got assigned our rooms and it was newly renovated so everything was clean and had that new smell scent, then to only be blocked from my room the next day (everything had been paid for and approved by the way). Which I then had to go downstairs to find an answer to then it being resolved and seconds later in my room getting a call to move me.
I had been assured that the room was just as nice but it wasn't, needless to say that I was disappointed. I was told there was mis-booking, only to then be offered free breakfast which was already inclusive in my package, to then an afternoon tea on my departure if I were to ever be in the area again.Which I wouldn't since it was for work, and if every visit would be like this I have no intention of returning.
Then the very next day to be greeted by a hotel with a wedding party. Connecting the dots, finally able to see that since I was an abiding customer they moved me because they could, to make room for other customers. My colleague had no problems his whole stay, thanks for the inconvenience and trickery.
If you do go there go for the food, it was delicious and the staff are friendly but their service was lacking, I for one would not go back. You might have a better experience than me, the first day in my original room I would have given you full stars and a good review. I trust what hotel employees tell me with a pinch of salt now.

Our Review of The Alderley Restaurant (December 2014)
Alderley Edge is one of those places that's always held a certain magical attraction to me. When I was a child, I visited as part of an Alan Garner themed school trip and loved the place such was it charm. Nowadays it seems more of a haven for expensive cars and rich footballers, but nonetheless it's a beautiful part of the world I take delight in visiting....
