We arrived early and were told they were unable to allow us to have a drink while we waited even though there were empty tables in the bar area and outside. We asked if we could even just have our drink standing outside and we were refused. Luckily there is a nice old castle nearby to explore. We came back at the exact time of our booking and had to wait over 20 minutes until we could sit at our table. We watched as other early comers were allowed to sit outside until there booking. We ordered two beers while we waited and one was cold but we drank it without a complaint. We ordered the langoustines to start and recieved a hollow, brown langoustine with no meat inside. We were given a smaller sized (but at least edible) replacement with no apology. The soup was delicious and the sourdough bread was crisp and tasty. The side chips we shared were also lovely. However, overall the service was poor and our experience was remarkably average. Not worth the drive from Inverary and we will not be coming back.
