Absolute Perfection for Vegetarian Dining in Edinburgh! Hendersons came highly recommended for our first night in Edinburgh, and it did not disappoint. After a long day of traveling, they sat us right by the window. It was easily one of the best seats in the house—perfect for taking in the wonderful ambiance and watching the cars and local Edinburgh life pass by outside. The restaurant itself and the service were completely spot on. For starters, the olives from the nibbles menu were incredibly fresh. We also tried the dips, which were super tasty. My only tiny critique is that I would have preferred more pita or naan instead of the standard bread, simply because the bread itself is already so flavorful. The drinks were absolutely unique and delicious. The gin drink we ordered was so smooth it was dangerous! I’ve been to a couple of farm-to-table places before where they tend to over-tilt on the veggies, but Hendersons gets every single aspect right. The gnocchi literally melted in my mouth, packed with fresh vegetables and multiple complex layers of flavor. We also tried haggis for the first time; it had a very earthy flavor profile with heavy notes of root vegetables and nutmeg, making it feel cozy rather than summer-like. We finished with the Swedish Kladdkaka for dessert. It wasn't overly sweet and leaned a little dry, featuring that classic dense, flourless texture. Overall, an amazing culinary introduction to the city. We will definitely be back!
