The Woolpack Inn

Easily the best pub/hotel we’ve stayed in. We stayed here a couple of years ago and it’s even better than our last experience. My family (rambunctious toddler, neurotic whippet and two tired adults) was welcomed with open arms and shown to the most beautiful family suite, beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean. I’d happily move in! The food was very tasty (particularly the smoked trout) and very reasonably priced. Super local ale! Far and away, the best part of the whole experience is the standard of service. The whole team are attentive, super friendly and very knowledgeable. After having a rubbish time at another hotel just before Christmas (we have been travelling a lot after a close family bereavement), our stay here was a real tonic. Also worth noting that dogs are really well provided for with lovely bedding, bowls and welcome throughout the bar/restaurant. Will now be our go-to stop off any time we’re in the area.
