The Tack Room Restaurant at The Wensleydale Hotel

We had a wonderful one-night stay at The Wensleydale Hotel in Middleham. The bed was very comfortable, the room was spotless, and the whole hotel felt warm and welcoming. It’s also very dog-friendly, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The service was excellent — friendly, attentive and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. Dinner at the hotel was outstanding. From the starter to the main course and dessert, every dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. It was one of the highlights of our stay. The location is perfect for a peaceful countryside escape. Middleham is famous for its horse racing heritage, and in the early morning we saw jockeys riding horses through the village for training — such a unique and charming experience. The nearby Middleham Castle is well worth a visit, and walking up the hill offers stunning views across the countryside. The hotel is also close to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, making it ideal for scenic walks. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing country break with character and great food.
