The Scallop Shell restaurant reviews

Average rating: 4.7
Recent trip to Bath visited this restaurant at a recommendation of a local and wasn’t disappointed. Was told they had a lunch special and went in. We did not have reservations and lunch does get very busy but they squeezed us in. Lunch special was a fish and chips combo with tea or fish cake and chips combo and tea. The fried fish coating was super crispy and not greasy. The fish was a decent piece and super flaky the fish cake was nice but I found it was a bit potatoey and pasty but still nice. Chips were fluffy and not greasy. The tea surprised me. Why have tea with your fish and chips? Anyway it was a really decent cup of tea and not sure if it was the sugar they provided but I seriously loved the tea! We also got the sticky toffee pudding to share and man it was good! Menu had a lot of other options but more money so I stuck with the lunch special but would love to try them again in the future. They give the bill in a little treasure chest box and provide gold chocolate coins as the treat - such a cute memorable way to end the meal.
