The Pig-in the Cotswolds restaurant reviews

Average rating: 4.7
Not like the traditional PIG hotels, very different and disappointing.
The staff were lovely and service good. Food was pretty good as well.
But the location and site isn’t good. If you’re unlucky enough to be in a room next to the dairy farm ( next door) the smell is unbearable and not what you’d expect when forking out £600 a night. If you’re staying in the actual main building , you’ll avoid the horrendous smell but the rooms in outbuildings are next door to the dairy farm.
Wasn’t just the smell but the farming noise until 7pm at night and from 4am in the morning was bad.
The bar and general relaxing facilities are very small and not like the other Pigs, which have grand fireplaces and large bar areas. That was a disappointment.
Apparently the room was renovated in December but clearly hadn’t been done very well . Check out the well worn light switch knob and you could tell they’d just slapped some paint on the walls but hadn’t renovated the fixtures and fittings !
The hotel has had 4 owners in 20yrs , so there’s clearly an issue with the site
Lovely staff but not worth £600 a night
