The Lord Crewe

Visited today after visiting the Castle as we're staying in the area. Smokers in the beer garden so decided to sit inside. No sign to advise wait to be seated, only one table was taken by around 6 people. The rest of the area was empty. Approached by a member of staff who said we hadn't checked if the table had been booked. The area of the restaurant was empty! Said it shouldn't be a problem but we may be asked to move if a booking turned up. Not the warmest of welcomes. Seemed like we were a little inconvenient. No one did turn up!! However despite this welcome the food was exceptional! Very tasty and great value for money. It was a little on the pricy side but the food was very much worth it. All other staff were lovely and cheerful. Just unfortunate that we got the lady who approached us as we sat down who made a huge issue that we'd sat at that particular table. Not sure we'd return after the welcome if ever in the area again but the food was excellent and the other staff were lovely!
