A quick visit with my wife, but I'll confess I got Mentmore mixed up with Waddesdon, so I told my partner we'd also take in a visit to 'train robbers bridge' near Mentmore. Never mind that!!!
We had a lovely time in a very pleasant country house hotel with a small pub attached as well as the magnificent Waddesdon House next door.
The room was excellent, although it was actually one of the Junior Suites, so we had a living room as well as a bathroom and bedroom. The suite is equipped with a decent coffee machine, and the other facilities include an excellent hair dryer as well as an iron and ironing board.
Oops, I nearly forgot that if you stay here, you can get free admission to Waddesdon House, which is exceptional and is subject to a separate review by myself.
Food now. I'm spoilt by my dear wife, who has introduced me to and often paid to allow me to experience some truly wonderful food. I'll stick with my 5-stars even though the food is not a match on that which we enjoyed 2 weeks earlier in relatively nearby Marlow. Most will know which pub, run by a celebrity chef, we mean.
That's it from ne for this place
