The Fell Restaurant at The Pheasant

Review after ten visits. The Pheasant is a super location to pull over for a rest off the A66 and has a good mix of locals and tourists. A drink in the mature gardens is really great on a hot day. Moreover while the Lunch menu is slim pickings there is some fantastic food to be had in the evenings and a great abeyance. The decor is old and shabby but really works for this place and gives it a warm homely feeling. The wine on offer is also worth mentioning as the recommendations have all been outstanding. Unfortunately however one of the regular waiters is Bipolar which can make for rather strange/uncomfortable dinning at times as he flips from sullen to manic.
