Orion by Alex Webb

I visited Orion by Alex Webb for my birthday, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. We started outside with a cocktail, and the Pisco Sour was beautifully balanced and incredibly refreshing – exactly how it should be. As it was a Tuesday, we took full advantage of the complimentary corkage, which is such a fantastic touch and, if you ask me, something more restaurants should consider offering. Their own wine list is also impressively curated, with an excellent selection at very reasonable prices. The food was beautifully presented and tasted every bit as good as it looked. What I particularly loved was the emphasis on local produce throughout the menu. Ingredients such as Wimbledon rooftop oyster mushrooms, Wimbledon honey and London burrata really showcased the best of what's on our doorstep, and it's refreshing to see a restaurant so committed to celebrating local suppliers. What truly elevated the experience, however, was the service. From the moment we walked through the door until the moment we left, we never had to ask for a thing. Everything was anticipated before we even realised we needed it. Our waitress, Helen, struck the perfect balance of being warm, knowledgeable and naturally attentive without ever feeling intrusive. It was the little details that made all the difference – like quietly refolding napkins whenever someone left the table, ensuring everything remained immaculate. Exceptional food is one thing, but when it's paired with genuinely outstanding hospitality, it creates an experience that's hard to forget. Whether you live in Wimbledon or you're travelling from further afield, Orion by Alex Webb is an absolute gem that's well worth visiting. We'll certainly be back.
