MacNean House

MacNean House restaurant reviews

Average rating: 4.9
A must do for culinary enthusiasts.
We were warmly greeted by the chef and true gentleman - Nevin Maguire who talked us through his menu, food providence and his great in-house team.
The prestige food and wine tasting menu was created with consideration and the finest of (local) ingredients, presented on beautiful dishware.
This 'set' tasting menu, did however, had plenty of choice within it. The portions were ample and we were repleat by pre-dessert.
The wine pairings were a delight, in particular the final apple tawny from Stonewell Cork- fabulous.
The food and service was impressive, competent and attentive without being fussy. There is a lovely warmth from the place and team. One feels like a special guest in a family home- who happens to be led by a culinary legend.
We've wanted to come for an age and finally had the pleasure...so persevere, it's worth it. We also travelled up from Dublin (2.5 hours) and again worth making the journey.
