George's Dining Room And Bar

My friend booked a Christmas dinner at George's Dining Room & Bar, and the £110 per person price tag raised my eyebrows. At that cost, I anticipated an exceptional dining experience. We were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine, a pleasant start. However, the starters were underwhelming. My salmon portion was minuscule. The main course was equally disappointing. The potatoes seemed pre-cooked and reheated, and the vegetable accompaniments were sparse – a single carrot, a single parsnip, and undercooked cabbage. The lack of Yorkshire puddings was a significant omission for a Christmas dinner. For dessert, I opted for a cheese board, which was decent, but the meager three grapes were a curious touch. With two beers each, our total bill reached a staggering £530 for four people, including a £50 service charge. While the service was commendable, with friendly and attentive staff, the food quality simply did not justify the exorbitant price. It felt like a major rip-off. I will not be returning to George's Dining Room & Bar.
