Cotswold House Hotel restaurant reviews

Average rating: 4.6
The Afternoon Tea we had was very disappointing, equalled by the service we received. We had to wait some time to be served while the place was literally empty.
We called ahead with dietry requirements that, while not complex, were not recorded so it resulted in an awkward conversation with the waitress about what the ingredients were for each item.
She seemed completely flustered by our questions and we never saw her again until I had to hunt someone down so we could pay the bill.
The food didn't taste fresh, the cakes tasted stale and the macaroons were a very bad batch. Crunchier than kettle chips!. We are used to having our sandwiches renewed at other Afternoon Teas but here we were never even given the option to ask.
It felt like the 1 waitress we had was pulled away from serving the 4 different Afternoon Tea groups to wait on the bar while nobody replaced her.
Overall a very poor experience. I'm sure the other restaurant in the hotel is better, that's where the staff seemed to be.
