A mix of good and sadly bad staff. We booked a cell room for dinner bed and breakfast. After realising breakfast is only continental, we paid extra for Full English, then had to pay £25 to park in the hotel courtyard. When arriving for dinner, we started to remove our masks and were then abruptly told by a female member of bar staff to 'get your mask on". Dinner itself was ok but not worth the extra £25 for scallops & Ribeye steak. However, our waitress was very attentive and tried to please. At breakfast, we adhered to our given time slot to ensure the kitchen was able to cope in a timely manner, the meet & great chap was great on arrival and explained the process for ordering, after that is was downhill.... After 40 mins the breakfast arrived cold with no baked beans so we sent it back. After another 30 mins it arrived back this time with beans! Our friends in the party had to wait 55 mins for their cold breakfast (minus beans again) which then made us late for the 11am checkout. When we explained to reception that we would be late checking out, they said no problem, we will just add a £15 late check out fee....ENOUGH ! We did not pay the late checkout fee, demanded a refund on the extra charge for breakfast and we won't be booking again. Car park valets were efficient and polite. Great venue, very overpriced with no Spa or amenities and a shocking service.
