We found Beechfield House while perusing through bookings.com for a short countryside break. It's a v cute and historical country house, perfect for a weekend away.
We stayed in the Chestnut room - which was v spacious and definitely very English. Note that this is a dog friendly hotel. The swimming pool is gorgeous (c19 limit of max 6 people, towels provided) and has nice spacious ground for a mini 5-a-side (with goal posts and footballs ofc) - so a definitely a v kid friendly place.
We are told that you get better deals through direct bookings (rather than through booking.com - so worth checking). Unfortunately we did not have breakfast or dinner here so unable to comment on quality of food. Other c19 measures include prebooking of dinner (by 5pm) and breakfast for the next day (book by 7pm we think).
Wil definitely return for another weekend break.
