Arlington Grill and Brasserie at the Best Western George Hotel

Lovely setting in a semi-suburban area, set back from the street with a beautiful garden and pond just off of the dining room. Has all the amenities including a homey lounge where you could read or socialize and a smaller lounge and well-stocked bar on the other side of the main hall. Really pampered in the elegant dining for breakfast (additional coast) with cloth napkins and a garden view. Breakfast tiered at different prices according to your appetite. I didn't use the restaurant at night but it seems very popular for an evening meal. I found I was well able to do all my sightseeing using the Annesley House Hotel as a base - as long as you are not afraid of walking - the attractive Plantation Gardens alongside the St. John the Baptist Roman Cathedral are a short walk away as is the main shopping area and the Tourist Information Office at the Forum, where the many delightful walking tours start from. There seemed to be ample parking for cars and I was able to get a taxi from and to the train station with ease - about £ 8 depending on traffic. So give yourself a treat and stay at this comfortable 'home away from home' when touring Norwich! One minus would be the lack of air conditioning except for a fan and an open window - perhaps lighter quilts can be provided in summer? Thanks again for a very pleasant stay, missing you already!!
