The Terrace at The Headland restaurant reviews

LOOKS DECEIVE
The Headland Hotel is a beautiful building and we were overawed by its location and decor. But there the praise ends. After advising three different staff members of our High Tea reservation, which was made six months ago, we were finally seated 25 minutes later than our 3pm timeslot. With little apology, we were shown to a 'special' table, without a view and near the restaurant entrance. Apparently walk-ins, without reservations, had secured our booked seats with the anticipated views.
The food, which was served 20 minutes later, was awful. Dry and tasteless, except for the aluminium flavour in both the sweet and savoy tartlets. With a vegan and two vegos in the group, the shining ingredient in the 'food' was capsicum. Soggy and inedible.
We were waived the service fee which was attached to the per head price of £35 . This was understandable as nothing that would qualify as 'service' was given - except for Alice.
Would NOT RECOMMEND at all.
On the other hand, Bodmin Jail, accommodation and restaurant are a must.
