Springboard Restaurant at The Kingsley

In 2009, this hotel flooded in dramatic fashion. People had to be evacuated and most thought that was the end of the hotel. However, the renovations undertaken have been impressive internally. It is to the credit of the hotel group that they have managed to salvage what most thought was lost. I have never stayed overnight so can't comment on the lodgings. However, I can comment on the staff, who always seem really pleasant and professional. I can also comment on the interior, which has been renovated to a high standard in the lobby and function areas. The views of the River Lee to the back of the hotel are lovely and the adjoining walkway provides a great way to take a morning jog or walk if you happen to find yourself saying there overnight. The one thing that might require some attention in the hotel is the car park. As you enter the main gates, the overflow car park is not readily apparent. Directional arrows on the road would indicate that there is a one-way system in place preventing you from accessing the overflow car park. The road needs to be clearly marked with bi-directional arrows to show customers where to park. On this issue, the receptionist at the desk was exceptionally helpful. She actually left her desk for a few moments and came out to show me where to park in person. This was great service!
