Cin Cin Hove restaurant reviews

Average rating: 4.8
overrated and overpriced Italian food
went twice, once for their mid week deal a year ago, and second time for a family dinner during the weekend.
the place was empty when we arrived (just one table was taken). the waitress that attended out table was nice, but not great at suggesting wines. we were just asked us if we want something classic or more unique (whatever that means), nothing about what food we plan to order, any notes we are looking for. seemed a bit unprepared for a michelin restaurant.
then for the food: we got the rabbit croquette, a salad and the mozzarella di buffala with courgettes. the latter was pretty much flavourless, whilst the croquette was already a bit cold when it got to our table.
for the mains, they were okay, you could definitely tell the pasta was freshly made in-house, but nothing to be blown away about (we got the tonnarelli alle vongole, ravioli, pan fried hake and a special with veal ragu).
the biggest disappointment was the desert: we ordered the special baba napoletana and pannacotta. the former, if you ever had it in its original form, is usually soaked in rum-flavoured syrup. otherwise its just a dry dough. the baba we were served was exactly that: a dry dough topped with creme freche on a bed of apricot purée; from the description on the menu, i expected chunks of apricot (perhaps if it was apricots roasted on the pan with some cognac would've been muuuch better). the pannacotta was served without any fresh fruit, on top of a very dry biscuit, surrounded by lemon flavoured ice... very odd take on a pannacotta in my opinion. they also took ages to bring the deserts which was nothing that should take so long, most likely it's ingredients were already prepared ahead.
for a michelin place, and judging by the amazing reviews i see on here, i expected way more! I don't think i will ever be back to have some mid-tier italian food with subpar service
