Bearu

We had a great meal at Bearú! We started of with a couple of their cocktails which was a nice start and were served two types of bread and butter. There are meat, fish and vegin choices for each course. I went the fish route and my partner choose meat. Although as it happens the special was also a meat starter. The starters were good but the mains really brought out the fireworks. Monkfish and duck which were both amazingly prepared. I don't think I've ever enjoyed my monkfish more. Across the table there were also several very happy sounds concerning the duck. Deserts included a very nice cheese and a desert resembling baklava but with a twist. Turn around time seems quick at this restaurant and with just 10 tables you would think a serving staff of two could handle it easily. You can't blame them for an occasional longer wait as the kitchen was churning out dishes at an amazing rate (considering the high quality) and the staff was working hard to keep everyone happy. Personally I wouldn't have minded a longer sit as we were in and out within two hours. (As foreigners, maybe we're culturally a bit different on this point but the food is worth enjoying a bit longer!) Oh! There is a nice long list of drinks to choose from including some very tasty wines!
