Yaatra

Yaatra restaurant reviews

Average rating: 4.5
Yaatra was gaining popularity on instagram feed from last year, so I had to give it a try.
It’s located in old fire station, and is quite spacious. The place has retained character of same walls from fire station and yet has that nice vibe with its lovely ambience
Staff were very polite, courteous, and they make you feel welcomed however the service was quite lethargic maybe because they were quite busy for Friday evening & were under staffed, so I can give them little leverage here
but a feedback for them, specially if they had earned Michelin this year, the service was really not up to the mark for taking order, for bringing water, to check on clients by looking at them even from distance if they need anything, for clearing table & even for bringing bill. I would recommend them to improve little upon it.
Coming to food, we had ordered their shahi tokri chaat- instagrammable viral dish, paneer tikka as starters.
In mains we had ordered lauki ke kofte, paneer tikka masala, dal makhani with mint laccha paratha, gahat lentil paratha & garlic naan.
We were too full for dessert, so didn’t try it out.
I really liked the innovation & presentation behind tokri chaat- flavours could have been little more, but tokri (tart) was so very perfect in texture so that made it winner.
The flavours of paneer tikka were below average- most disappointing dish for us.
Other dishes were decently good- best part spices were just perfect not too much hot.
I really liked mint paratha, my husband liked gahat paratha.
For us showstopper dish was however lauki ke kofte - simply amazing flavours of curry with those koftas - I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting.
Happy to have another good Indian restaurant in heart of London.
