Port Gaverne

Such a shame, we have been coming to Port Gaverne for nearly 10 years now. Previous stays and restaurant food, service great. This occasion 5 adults and our dog who has always previously stayed. Taken to the restaurant we were very happy as previously no dogs allowed, sat down to a horrendous loud screeching sound almost continuously, it was beyond unacceptable…we asked to be moved. Moved to a spot in the pub section, fine. Asked if pub/hotel had changed hands recently and was told by staff yes. Not great. Previously menus were fantastic and restaurant used to have different and more exclusive not fine dining, but great…worth your effort to travel. Menu is standard pub grub now, ingredients not the best-mass catering standard and not even executed well. We ate our food, did not make a fuss, left and decided never to return. Such an incredible shame.
