Embers restaurant reviews

Average rating: 4.8
Really hate leaving bad reviews but I’m surprised by how many good reviews this place has. Came here for the Sunday roast and had beef and pork. The beef was super tough, to the point it was hard to cut with my steak knife. I think it had been frozen and not given enough time to defrost? Either way, as the portion was so generous I only had some fruit for dinner and ended up getting terrible food poisoning the next day. I’ve backpacked through south east asia and never had any food poisoning, and I’ve only had food poisoning once else in my life- so it’s not just that i’m susceptible.
The mai tai was very good and in general the service was really good
Really hope it was just a one off with the food poisoning but felt obliged to say something. The person I was with refused to eat the beef as they thought it was too tough and just had the pork, and they were fine the next day, and we ate the same fruit for dinner
